Part-Time Gallery Attendant
Job Title: Part-Time Gallery Attendant
Location: The Dalles, Oregon
Position Type: Entry Level/Part-Time/On-Call
Schedule: This is an on-call coverage position with variable hours. Shifts are typically scheduled between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, with occasional evening hours for events. The greatest need is on Saturdays and during evening programming. Some weeks may offer multiple shifts, while others may have limited or no hours.
Pay: $15-$17/hour, depending on education and experience
Position Overview
The Dalles Art Center is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an On-Call Gallery Attendant. This flexible, entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to supplement their income while being part of a vibrant creative community.
As a Gallery Attendant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and engaging experience for visitors. You’ll assist with daily gallery operations, support exhibitions and events, and help connect our community with the arts.
Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist visitors in a warm and professional manner

Process sales in the gallery shop using a POS system

Support artwork intake and basic exhibition setup tasks

Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting gallery space

Provide general information about exhibits, programs, and events

Assist with event coverage as needed
Qualifications

Prior customer service and/or point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred

Comfortable with basic computer use and technology

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently

Interest in the arts and community engagement is a plus

Summer Camp Coordinator
Job Title: Summer Camp Coordinator

Camp Dates: Tuesday–Friday on the following weeks:

This position includes one week of camp prep and one week for wrap-up
Pay: $17-$20/hour, depending on education and experience
Position Overview
The Dalles Art Center is looking for an energetic, organized, and art-loving individual to lead our 2026 Summer Art Camp program. As Summer Camp Coordinator, you'll play a key role in fostering creativity and fun for children through hands-on, engaging art activities. If you’re passionate about arts education, love working with kids, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
1. Camp Operations & Safety

Design and manage an efficient daily check-in/check-out system

Collect and organize required paperwork, emergency contacts, and special needs documentation
2. Lesson Planning & Implementation

Create age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans for morning and afternoon sessions
-
Use diverse art mediums and techniques to inspire creativity
-
Provide detailed supply lists and prepare backup activities
-
Lead art sessions, demonstrating techniques and guiding students with clarity and enthusiasm
3. Classroom & Student Management
-
Supervise up to 12 students per session, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
-
Address behavioral concerns with professionalism and care
4. Lunch & Transitions
-
Oversee lunch breaks and coordinate with staff to manage dietary needs
-
Plan calm, structured transition times between sessions
5. Physical Activities & Outdoor Play
-
Incorporate outdoor games and movement-based activities to balance the day and support wellness
6. Special Needs Accommodation
-
Collaborate with parents/guardians to understand student needs
-
Provide individual support to ensure every child can fully participate
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education or a related field (preferred)

Experience working with children in educational or camp settings
-
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

Flexible, dependable, and collaborative
-
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Key Responsibilities
