Poetry Open Mic: Expressions in Color

Experience an evening of poetry, community, and creative expression at TDAC’s May Poetry Open Mic Night.

This month's theme, Expressions in Color, invites participants to explore the many ways color shapes our lives, identities, histories, emotions, and communities. Inspired by the vibrant works in Kaleidoscopia, the spirit of Juneteenth, and the celebration of Pride Month, we welcome poetry that reflects the richness of human experience in all its forms. Whether your words are inspired by culture, memory, joy, resilience, belonging, nature, or imagination, this is an opportunity to share your unique perspective and add your voice to a colorful tapestry of stories.

We embrace all forms of poetry, and poets are welcome to read several pieces, depending on poem length and the number of participants. Audience members will be encouraged to perform as well (but this is by no means necessary), and there will be printed poems to choose from.
