Painting with oil may seem like a daunting concept for some, but Chris teaches that the best way to learn the methods of oil painting is to begin with very simple, very basic techniques. This class is designed for those who have never used oil paint before, or who have used it in the past and need a refresher. Students will start with the most basic aspects of the medium. Color mixing will be a major focus, beginning with mixing various values of simple color using only white and brown or black to create a value chart. Students will then complete a few simple studies, using two tones only, of basic objects displayed on canvas or board.
