About The Event
We will make enameled on copper earrings or/and tree ornaments. I have small Christmas tree ornaments, snowman ornaments/earrings, Christmas tree earrings and star ornaments and a round shape for a globe tree ornament earring. I will provide you with enamels for sifting, glass strings, silver foil, beads, and fun stuff to decorate your projects. Silver ear wires will be provided if you make earrings. A kiln will be used to melt the enamel glass.
Students should bring snacks or lunch and beverages.
About the instructor:
My name is Jo Dean Sarins, I live in White Salmon, WA. With my husband Juris. I am retired from the National Center for Agricultural Research, Peoria, ll. I love jewelry, bought a lot! I started collecting Swarovski crystal jewelry, then vintage jewelry. Soon my collection became too large, So I started to sell in Antique stores. Peoria has an art guild. They offered jewelry classes! Opps, that was the beginning. I took every class they offered on jewelry making. One was on enameling. I was hooked. It has been 20 years since my first class. I am a metalsmith, but enameling is my passion. Belonging to The Enamelist Society, I take 5-day seminar every 2 years to learn new techniques. And lots of online classes during Covid.
