Chris Bolton has been making ceramic artwork for 55 years! This show celebrates his career. Join us for the reception starting at 6 pm. CCGC President Dr. Kenneth Lawson will speak at the reception and Sally Johnson will interview Chris. This event is hosted with Columbia Gorge Community College.

About The Event

The Dalles Art Center (TDAC) and Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) are pleased to welcome the community to a celebration in honor of local artist Chris Bolton. CGCC Alumni are invited as guests of the College. 

Your ticket includes an invitation to a reception hosted by Columbia Gorge Community College President, Dr. Kenneth Lawson from 6 - 7 pm, the Artist Talk with Sally Johnson, Executive Director of The Dalles Art Center at 7 pm and complimentary light refreshments.

Together, TDAC and CGCC are pleased to spotlight the work in the exhibit: Quinquinquagenary: 55 Years of Playing with Dirt. A Retrospective of Ceramic Work by Chris Bolton. The evening will celebrate the work of longtime Community Education ceramics instructor and artist, Chris Bolton. The Artist Talks invite deeper conversations with artists by delving into questions regarding the approach to their work and what inspires them to create.

At the reception, Dr. Lawson will welcome the attendees, including CGCC alumni and faculty and share his thoughts on the partnership with The Dalles Art Center and his vision for the future of the education, practice and exposition of the visual arts.

Tickets are $5 and benefit The Dalles Art Center. CGCC alumni will be the honored guests of Dr. Lawson and are encouraged to come network over light refreshments and learn more about how to stay involved with the college and community!

Schedule for the evening:

6 pm: door open and light refreshments are served.

6:30 pm: Dr. Kenneth Lawson, President of Columbia Gorge Community College will speak about the history of Arts & Culture at CCGC and the on-going collaboration between CCGC and TDAC.

7:00 pm: Sally Johnson will host Chris Bolton for an Artist Talk.
