This is an intermediate class for people who have had some experience felting.  Our previous felted scarf class is recommended to take first. Felters will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge using basic methods of wet felting by making a sleeveless vest out of soft merino wool, silk, and other natural fibers. We will take it a step further and make a seamless vest.

In this class, I will help you cut out a “sloper,” a dress maker’s pattern, for a vest to fit your own figure.  We will then go through the step-by-step process of laying out and felting wool resulting in a seamless garment that should fit nicely.  You will learn the method to lay out wool, use a resist, and several fulling and finishing techniques.  By the end of the class, you will be able to wear your vest, along with your new scarves from our previous class.
