regional open call for ceramicists:

beyond the construct

May 2021

Columbia Center for the Arts and The Dalles Art Center are excited to announce the first in an ongoing collaborative Biennial, each focused on a different medium. The first of these Bienniels will highlight ceramic work from around the Pacific Northwest and will be open to artists residing in Oregon and Washington. Beyond the Construct is an opportunity to showcase the expressive and functional capacities of clay. Beyond the Construct will be exhibited at CCA and TDAC in May of 2021.

Ten Regional Artists have been selected for participation by TDAC, CCA and Brett Binford:  Aisha Harrison, Baba Wague, Dirk Statschke, Ivan Carmona, Joe Davis, Lisa Conway, Maya Vivas,  and Stacy Joe Scott.  Other local and regional ceramicists were selected through a call for artists. This coupling of local and regional artists creates an opportunity for local and emerging artists to be exhibited with well known and highly regarded artists. I
