TDAC will be closed until further notice.
The Dalles Art Center will be closed until further notice in an effort to further stem the spread of COVID-19. Governor Brown issued a shelter in place proclamation on March 21, 2020.
The official reopening date of the art center will be determined according to recommendations from federal, state, and local health authorities. Please look to our website, Facebook and/or Instagram for updates and for images of the current exhibit Nurtured Spaces that will be extended through May 2nd.
We rely on community support through donations, class enrollment and the sale of artwork. During this period of uncertainty and precaution, we welcome your continued support for the services that we provide for The Dalles, Wasco County and the Columbia Gorge. If you would like to make a donation please use the link below to help the center.
March 5th-May 2nd
Opening Reception on March 5th, 5-7 pm
Nurtured Spaces is a continuation of TDAC’s traditional Spring garden themed show. In 2019 artists explored the connection of nurturing potential in nature and in humanity. This year we are asking you to explore the spaces that we nurture and that nurture us. What does a nurtured space mean to you? Artwork could range from images of gardens to repurposed metal sculptures to multi-media expressions. It could also be an exploration beyond the physical space of a garden.
This exhibit is a collaboration with The Master Gardeners and the City of The Dalles Beautification Committee. Master Gardeners will be hosting the opening and will be on hand with information on gardening and their program offerings. This is an effort to support the community initiative put forth by Mayor Rich Mays with his Beautification Committee. Please join us in the exploration of nurtured spaces in The Dalles by entering your work in this exhibition.
