How to Help The Dalles Art Center

We rely on the community so that we may continue to serve the community. There are a great many ways to help keep The Dalles Art Center an asset for artists and art enthusiasts of all ages in The Gorge. For ideas on how to help, refer to our "quick list" below.

Volunteer

We are always looking for new volunteers for work both at the gallery and at our various events. Please contact the Art Center if you would like to get your name on our volunteer list!

Host a Reception

Assist in gathering and setting out snacks, pouring drinks, and generally being a face for The Dalles Art Center and the art show. This volunteer position is great for social people with a flair for presentation who otherwise do not have a lot of time to volunteer in one of our  more regular positions.

Sponsor a Show

Want to express your enthusiasm for the arts while getting some advertisement? Why not have your business sponsor one of our monthly art shows? To see a list of this year's shows, review our schedule under the Home tab. Please contact the Art Center if you would like more information on how to help keep our rotating art shows going strong.

Become a Member

For as little as $25 a year you can become a member and get great perks! For more information, please see our Current Members page under the About Us tab.

Support Through Attendance

Perhaps the most enjoyable way to support the Art Center is by attending our shows and events! Every month we have a new art show that either focuses on a particular local artist or on a particular artistic theme. We have a reception every month for each new show. We also have a variety of fundraisers and classes year-round. Please check our website often for updates on all of these events.

Rent our Facilities

The Dalles Art Center has a studio space below the main gallery that is perfect for meetings and events. We have long tables and chairs available, a sink and small kitchenette area. Room rental is $15 an hour with a $25 minimum per use. For art-related events (fine arts, music arts, theater and dance), room rental is only $5 an hour. If you are looking to rent a space for a meeting, art event, or for a small office party, please contact the gallery to make reservations. Sorry, no political party meetings or religious events.

Teach a Class

If you are a local artist or art teacher and would like to teach at The Dalles Art Center, please contact us. The Art Center typically takes 20% of all tuition and fees to cover class advertising costs and classroom maintenance. We prefer teachers who can teach a wide range of ages, can supply art materials, and who can offer low-cost tuition to the public. Contact the Art Center for details.

Monetary Support

We accept donations in any amount at any time. We accept donations at the gallery and via mail. Admission to the gallery is always free. If you have change to spare we'd love to have your support!
