We have approximately 13 rotating shows a year. Typically, at least 2 of these are open shows. Featured-artist show participants and group-artist show participants must follow this basic criteria:
-Work must be current (completed within the last 2 years).
-All work must be original (no reproductions, copies, or using anybody else's work).
-Work should NOT have been shown at The Dalles Art Center in the past.
-Any media is acceptable unless otherwise specified for a particular show.
-Work must be display-ready. Hung work must be framed and have a wire (rather than toothed) hanger. Sculpture must stand on its own. Installations must be arranged with the show curator.
-Artists with over-sized pieces should arrange with gallery for delivery and set up.
-Work accepted into a show is to remain for the duration of the show unless the Director grants a specific exemption.
-Work must be removed promptly at the end of the show unless prior arrangements have been made.
-We prefer the work to be for sale but do not require it to be. The gallery will receive a 35% commission on any work sold during a show.
-Artists set their own price for their work.
-All work goes through a jurying process. The Art Center reserves the right to make the final decision on what will be included in a show.
